Lighting Terms
1.Bounce Lighting: The light that bounced off something, took the color, and went onto the object.
In Gimp: I took the color green from the tree and reflected it onto the aqueduct.
2.Terminator:The dividing line that divides the lights and darks.
In Gimp:The curvy parts in the aqueduct, I made there be darks and lights inside, and there is a terminator in the middle.
3.Mid-tones:The shades between 2 colors.
There are the darks and lights, and the mid-tone is in between.
4.Highlights:The part where the most light is shining on an object.
The sun is shining on the inside of the aqueduct thingy, but an angle, so one part is light and another is dark.
5.Core Shadow:The shadow where the least amount of light is on the object.
So, the sun goes one way, and the light goes that way, and the shadows are right next to the light, and right there, farthest away, is the core shadow.
6.Occlusion Shadow:The shadow in between the cast and core shadow, usually very dark.
Right behind the aqueduct.
7.Cast Shadow:The shadow behind an object, caused by the object blocking light.
Really behind the aqueduct.
8.Key Light:The light coming from the main light source.
The sun light is shining on the ground.
9.Fill Light:A light used to lighten shadows.
It is on the inside of the aqueduct.
10.Rim Light:Light coming from the back of the subject, used to give depth.
The yellow light outlining the aqueduct is the rim light.
